Telnet bizsmtp Relaying denied : what does it mean ?

I'm having trouble configuring my mailserver to use a relay.

But when I try to telnet to the relay mailserver that I want to use, I get the following :

Code:
bash-3.2# telnet uit.telenet.be 25
Trying 195.130.137.74...
Connected to uit.telenet.be.
Escape character is '^]'.
421 juliette.telenet-ops.be bizsmtp Relaying denied
Connection closed by foreign host.
What does it mean when the mailserver states "bizsmtp Relaying denied" ??

this server is not accepting mail from your host.
that could be the way it is configured/misconfigured or just not working as it should be.

Hello,

If you're using a dynamic IP, then you don't have to look any further. Telenet doesn't accept servers relaying from dynamic IP in Belgium.

If you are not using a dynamic IP, contact Telenet because they'll have you 'blacklisted'.

(I'm from Belgium and had that experience with Telenet too).

Kind regards,

Eric
