Telnet
 

This might not be the forum for this, but i was trying to use telnet to send and receive emails. i type in terminal telnet smtp.gmail.com 25 it tries to connect a few times but always times out, i did telnet pop.gmail.com 110 but again after i few tries the session times out. can somebody please tell me what i am doing wrong.

You may be doing nothing wrong. They may be preventing this kind of access to prevent spam.
