TCP/IP protocol suit location & its compilation in Linux

Dear All,
With due respect, I am new in Linux, i have installed Fedora 10, and also run some server/client code in it and working.

But now have some question.

1- How can we find where TCP/IP stack resides in Linux folder location.
2- If we modify some code (e.g retransmission procedure), So how we compile complete TCP/IP stack, and test it.
