Taskbars

How do you add tasks, files and folders to the task bars or make them disappear. Wasn't a problem with BT but Mint taskbars don't seem to be alterable. Z/Z

In case you aren't aware of it, the Mint website Community page has links to Mint documentation. For example, from the Users guide:
Quote:

Make your own shortcuts
If you don’t like the idea of having “Favorite” applications, you can simply use your
panel or your desktop to achieve similar results, (namely, giving yourself quick access to
your applications). Simply drag & drop the application of your choice from the menu to
your panel or to your desktop.
Try dragging a file to the taskbar to see if you can achieve the same result.

To remove an item from the taskbar, try right click on the taskbar to see the pop-up menu. There should be an option to remove items.

Are you using mint with kde by any chance?

LinuxNoobX 01-30-2012 01:47 AM

I tried the obvious right click and drag thing before I posted. Unlike the GNOME interface in BT the Gnome interface in Mint doesn't show a menu when you left or right click on the top or bottom bars. The Mint interface does have an interesting feature though... if you slam the cursor into the top left corner it brings up a versatile process selection screen (not the official terminology I am sure).

Have never used KDE. Z/Z

P.S.: Any Strong Bad fans reading might be interested to know you can slay the regenerating bad graphics ghost (in sbemail #48 I think) by clicking in the window and holding down tab. The tab thing also reveals easter eggs at the end of emails... not sure about the eggs during emails. Z/Z
