Talk me through how to do this.

I want to put red hat 7 on my laptop but I have broken the floppy drive so I can't make any boot disks or anything. I want to partition my hd into a 10 and a 3 with a 100mg swap but when I partition it destroys the windows operating system so I can't boot into anything.

Just help me I hate this windows junk.

Not to get into myself too much, but I haven't been here alot lately, or hardly at all and much of it has to do with alot of the attitude of the board. People just post, "Tell me how to do this!" threads without any notion of politely asking for or thanking those who have/do help. People seem to want the easy way out and forget the pleasantries that should go with "free tech support"! Please, kindly ASK for the help you so require and I think you, as others, would get alot more help if you did so. Thanks....

boot using the redhat cdrom, if you can't do that you need to fix the floppy drive or maybe some other boot device that your bios supports.

tar your a devil ... get it ...
.
While your'e right, I think you need to take a break.
Your taking this all to serious.

Tayste_2000,
Can't you boot cdorm CD? Check BIOS boot sequence.
If you want to re-partiton you drive you drive w/o blowing
away windows, you'll have use something like fips or partitoin magic:

If your new to Linux/Unix check out this site

manners cost nothing. And this is a polite forum, and will hopefully stay that way.

Ok OK sorry i'm stressing abit because I thought I had killed my comp but it's ok.
So thanks for all your help.
Sorry I was so rude.

I can understand the stress factor in computers and how they can affect how I or anyone else states or asks a question. I hope you do not feel "picked on". That was not the intention. I hope you've solved your computer problems and if you need more answers, feel more than welcome to come back.

Yes I did thanx all.
Taz you were right to point that out to me I shouldn't have forgotten my manners.
Once again I appologize.
