Hi, I am a Linux Newbie...



There are some problem with my Linux on my PC Tablet HP Compaq tc4200.


I am using Linux Slackware 12.0




1. When I mounted a device, or DVD using cradle into the USB - Hole, my PC detected the Device and Storage media. But, when I tried to open it in new window, an error occured.
A window showed :
Titled : Error - Konqueror
Message : A security policy in place prevents this sender from sending this message to this recipient, see message bus configuration file ( rejected message had interface "org.freedesktop.Hal.Device.Volume" member "Mount" error name "(unset)" destination "org.freedesktop.Hal" )

2. The SD Card slot won't detected.
3. The wireless still can't work.

4. The stylus is not working.
When I typed "setserial" it works, but when I typed "wacdump" or "wacom - tools" it can't.

5. How could I change the Picture of LILO Boot Loader.

6. The baterry notification is not working.

7. How could I connect to the internet using Dial-Up?

Is there any tool I should download first to fix and help my problem with my PC Tablet?

I am stress. I tried almost 1 week but it has no effect so far....
So sad...

1. See the sticky at the top of this forum. I believe you need to add your user to the plugdev group.

2. What do you mean? How are you determining that it isn't detected?

3. What kind of wireless chipset does your machine have?

5. You don't. LILO doesn't have a background picture (someone correct me if I'm wrong!). You could always use GRUB instead.
