system time issue

OK Have had this problem before just can't remember remedy.
I have redhat linux gnome desktop my clock on gnome is 4 hours ahead. Date command gives me correct UTC time. Hwclock
command gives me correct EST. I've tried "hwclock --systohc and hwclock --hctosys commands rebooted Gnome clock still shows wrong time.

I had problem before and fixed it. This time I can't seem too fix it any ideas?

OK,I now have the correct time for my gnome desktop. But only it's in the 24 hour format.

Nevermind. Duh, I just adjusted the preferences to 12 hour format in gnome.

Ok,so now its fixed.
I believe it was the hwclock --hctosys command that fixed it.

I don't know why periodically this happens. But, it always stumps me for some reason.
