Hi guys, I recently installed Ubuntu along with my WinXP partition. Now everytime I start my PC with Ubuntu sometimes I get the wrong time, I change the clock to the right time, but when I go to the Win partition I get the wrong time also and lets say I go back and log into my Linux partition the same problem occurs! Is there a fix for this??
it has to do with improperly configured system clock, UTC vs. localtime, etc. you can use the date and hwclock commands (hwclock -h for help) to change it and reset your bios hardware clock. if it doesn't "stick," there might be ubuntu scripts you have to run, or a gui somewhere. when you find it, it's easiest to set your system and hardware clocks to localtime. then it doesn't change when you reboot, and also does daylight savings.
