System suspends sometimes after startx

Hello!

I use Arch Linux with Gnome 3.20.2.

When I boot my computer I'm in a login shell. I enter my user name and my password, after logging in, I type startx to start the gnome session.

Sometimes (very rarely), when I enter 'startx' my system suspends before the Gnome session is shown. Then I have to hit the power button another time. Then the GUI appears.

Why is this happening sometimes?

This behaviour appears very often at night, when I have to go to bed, but still sittin' in front of the computer

startx is working for me.

Aren't there any assumptions why this is happening?

Assuming this story is about your PC running Linux and your are logging in on the console. So it sounds like as your X server is starting and then the window manager is getting going (GNOME) the computer decides to sleep, or suspend. I can't think of anything that would be going on in your start up that would cause that. free action movies
The start of an X server is certainly exercising the video and monitor subsystems, their drivers and firmware so I'd suspect an interaction, bug or hardware fail that is triggering the sleep / hibernate response.
I'd first see how long it takes from hitting return on startx to the problem happening so you have a window of how soon and know if its about start up or it is actually sleep being triggered. latest comedy movies
Second, I'd work on simplifying the number of things that get started so that you can see how that changes the occurrence. The idea being to determine if its a certain program or its the X server. free horror movies
