System shutdown from KDE

What command could I use to make a shutdown option in KDE, I tried the shutdown -h now but it won't work.

/sbin/shutdown -h now should do it, if you're logged in as root. Most of the time users can't shutdown the computer. What does KDE say when you run that command?

To shutdown from the GUI, right click and select "log out". Konqui should show up and give you the option of shutting down. If it isn't there it's somewhere in Kconfig.

but ill make the other changes now.

The correct console command is poweroff in RedHat.

You can script a shortcut with a command and create a one click Icon, just like in windows.
