System seems slow lately....

My linux system seems slow I boot in to command line and run my HLDS and it takes forever to get WON AUTH to come up? But it seems like everything is slower i did have to repair the filesystem earlier cause i got lazy and flipped the power during a boot. If you know any utilitys or fixes?
