System not working with more than 24 Gigs

Hello,
I have got new system I bought it with 32 Gigabyte, 4 banks of 8 gigs each.
It would not boot the system [Mageia]. It was hanging at random places.
Memtest 86 was failing. I got some new ramsticks and now memtest86 now runs but the system will hang at various places. I even tried a live distro of Linux Mint. The crash was more spectacular, a nice segfault. Is there any issue of Linux running with this much ram?
I still think it's a hardware fault.
It is running fine with 24 Gigabytes.
It is a 64 bit os.

Code:

uname -a
Linux endor.moon 3.12.13-desktop-2.mga4 #1 SMP Sat Feb 22 23:45:28 UTC 2014 x86_64 x86_64 x86_64 GNU/Linux

32 GB RAM should not be a problem at all. I think it's a hardware problem too.

I have found Linux to be very sensitive to what I presume is memory timimg. I presume you added a new stick to take it from 24 to 32 Gig. Have you tried mix-and-match of the 4 sticks taken 3 at a time - rotate all 4 sticks through all connectors ?.
This should prove/eliminate an issue with introducing the new stick - if it (always) works with the new stick in the set of 3 being used.
