System Logger Failed Error

I am running Redhat 7.0 and had a power failure. When I rebooted the box, I got a "Starting system logger: [Failed] error. All other checks come up [OK]. I get a login prompt and can put my login name in. But I do not get a password prompt. Any help to repair this will be greatly appreciated.
