System Information

On quiet a few desktop screenshots I have noticed a thin vertical program running which displays system information. What is it and where can I get it from? Sorry, but I don't have any links right now as I'm pressed for time but I can get some later on if nobody knows what I am talking about.

cheers

Would you be talking about GKrellM? http://web.wt.net/~billw/gkrellm/gkrellm.html

Prob'ly GKrellm... <<http://web.wt.net/~billw/gkrellm/gkrellm.html>>

That'd be the one. Thanks guys :)

I noticed the tarball package only supports Slack 9.1. To make it work for Slack 10 I would need to use the gkrellm-2.2.4.tar.gz d/l and install it from source yeah?

check here for the .tgz file for slack 10:

http://www.linuxpackages.net/search_...rellm&ver=10.0

or you could just download the tar.gz and compile..either way would work for ya..

Is GKrellM only can be use on gnome or can use in other envirometn like KDE..?

judge_neo 10-27-2004 06:57 AM

gkrellm can be used in kde but i've always found it too be an ugly looking application, there are some some cool system monitors to be used with superkaramba.

try

And the best one for superkaramba (in my humble opinion) is TDE - T Desktop Enhancements.
