system application problem ubuntu


well for the network connection i decided to configure the modem. so i added the details in the system-network. but whenever i check the box next to the phone connection and close the box , it automatically gets unchecked. is there any solution for that.

Is there any "save settings" or "apply" button or something?

Is your system using 'pppoe'?

I don't know anything about the network GUIs; every time I try them I find them so defective that I just use the command line and edit config files by hand.
