syntax question on using up2date with --upgrade-to-release
Hello, I am fairly new to administering RHEL I have a server running RHEL 4. I need to update to release 6 the current release is 7. I run the command "up2date --upgrade-to-release 6 --dry-run" when I view the list of packages that will be updated the redhat-release is at
redhat-release 4ES 8.0.el4_7.1 i386. Am I running the command correctly? shouldn't the redhat release show as 4_6.1? I appreciate any help and guidance that is offered Best regards, Jeff |
