Syngery on Ununtu + Windows

im trying to run synergy to link my windows computer to my Linux computer and im running into problems:

on Windows it says its running, but it wont.
On linux i cant dnld the package, it says i dont have the permission

Remember to use sudo to install, that will give you permission.
I don't know what distro you talk about... if I assume Ubuntu, did you already take a look at this?:
It's pretty self-explaining and may help with other distros, except for installing commands.
