I have a fresh Linux mint 13 install on a new Acer Aspire laptop. The touchpad doesn't work at all (the USB mouse is OK). I suspect the problem is the driver or the lack thereof. I tried the package manager and the software manager to find a driver to no avail. I found a couple of drivers on the internet that are claimed to work for Synaptics touchpad in Linux, but I have no idea how to install them. The official Synaptics site has no drivers for Linux. Does anyone have any help or advice? I am totally new to Linux and have not yet learned Terminal usage. The touchpad is Synaptics Syn PS/2
