Synaptic repository + wine -- unable to download
Here is the wine website:
http://www.winehq.com/ Here are the instructions for debian repository info, specifically for debian based using Synaptic Package Manager: http://www.winehq.com/site/download-deb I've placed in my repository in SPM listing exactly what they have for both Binary(deb) and Source(deb-src). But when I try to Reload my listing it just gets hung up, times out and can't seem to get the latest Wine files. What the heck am I doing wrong? I have to be root to even use SPM. Is it just that these instructions are outdated? If so, where can one find a valid repository? Maybe there's some 'security setting' I'm unfamiliar with. Can any of you think of why for the greater part (not just wine) my repository listings don't seem to work? Someone out there is going to tell me to just edit some file...go ahead, but I'd really like to get the most out of Synaptic (point, click, swear, repeat). That's IMHO the reason Debian is a cut above. I'm grateful for your help. ß |
I did the same thing some days ago and it went ok! Maybe you misspelled it??
Please attach your /etc/apt/sources.list file! |
I will in a few hours when I'm at home. I thought I spelled it correctly....I checked it, though I never have even looked at my sources.list. I was hoping to learn how to just use the GUIs, but if it makes my like easier to just *know* what to put in the files I'm willing to do that too.
