Synaptic Package Manager Trouble

Hi, I've just installed Gutsy Gibbon Ubuntu on my Dell Inspiron 8200, and I was in the package manager and I noticed that on packages listed its only about 1100, while on my friends computer it says he has 13000 packages listen. Also when I went to the help bar and they had pictures showing that 13000 packages should be listed. I've checked my filters and reloaded several times, but I cannot find the problem. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Which repositories are enabled?
Main menu ---> Settings --->Repositories

Also, be sure to Reload whenever you change repositories
