sylpheed import doesn't work

I'm new to linux have installed fedora core 4 managed to install sylpheed 1.05

I had my old sylpheed emails on cd which I copied onto the fc4 system. I try to do an import and nothing happens .
I then tried to do a copy to place the directories with emails inside the sylpheed line that omitts the directories. Can someone please help me.

I tried to upgrade to sylpheed 2.0 it would not install said it could not find arguments. I have had the same problem with sylpheed-claws can't get it to install. It says it did but when trying to run the command --sylpheed=" /usr/bin/sylpheed-claws" to place it as default get a message that sylpheed-claws file or directory does not exists but it does.

Any help would be greatly appreciated

How did you save your email on the CD? If you burned the Mail folder, just copy it to your home and direct Sylpheed to it.
