switching to ubuntu
 

I am currently running on suse enterprise desktop 10 and would like to make the move to ubuntu 8.04. But heres my situation:


1) my acpid daemon is not working
2) I might have a corrupt library(xauth)
3) i dont have a cd drive

i hear you can do it using a flash drive. Would my current situation affect making the switch? thanks

You can also do a net-installation using unetbootin (even in linux):

no. i cant even get to my desktop let alone the internet on the laptop.

Instructions for usb flash drive given. Should work for most hardware, not just eee pc:
