I have RH9 installed on my system, and i'm a bit of a noob as well, but, how did you get RH9 to boot straight into text mode? I've been looking around for this for a LONG time, and I couldn't find anything....please help...

Search around the board, but the skinny:

Edit, as root, /etc/inittab, locate the line:

And change the 5 to a 3, save and exit.
