Switching Modes???? WAT!!
 

How do you switch from "text" mode to "graphical" mode? i installed it to boot in "text" mode but im lost trying to switch it to "graphical" mode.

what distro are you running? are you trying to use the gui or start in gui all the time?

startx and or

Change the run level from 3 to 5 in /etc/inittab

id:3:initdefault:

to

id:5:initdefault:

gui all the time if possible

i cant set the file permissions to file: initdefault:

i cant click any X's

You'd typically edit it as Root user in a Konsole in Mandrake - su to Root user then

kedit /etc/inittab
