Switching grub boot manager to windows boot manager
Hi everyone,
i just started using ubuntu 14.04 two weeks ago,i love the OS and all the ideas but lately my laptop dell vostro 2520 is acting strangely with this new OS. 1st issue is,battery drain very fast. 2nd issue is,the audio capability is very low. So i thought of switching back to windows. So my real problem is,i have convert all the windows 10 iso file to bootable on USB stick. And change the BIOS SETUP,1st priority to USB. But then, when i press F12 to boot from USB,it always pop up GRUB, BOOT FROM YOUR HARD DRIVE. i have change it to USB already. FYI i have backup all my data and files so,its like a clean install. If anybody could tell me what to do with this grub boot manager thing,i will be very happy as i been messing with this for the last 3 days. |
the MS install dvd can NOT read the ext4 or any other NON MICROSOFT owned/patented format
use Gparted to reformat the drive to ntfs or blank unformulated battery life has gotton better in the last 2 years the 2 year old 2014 ubuntu 14 might have issues the current 16.04 would have better battery life as to "audio capability" there ARE a ton of programs and whole distros targeted at audio creation |
could you kindly tell me the exact steps which i need to do,am just really new. Sorry for being so dumb, learning on the process

Please do the following. Burn ubuntu DVD iso file to a media like DVD or USB flash. Insert the media to the problematic PC/laptop and boot with the Ubuntu DVD/USB. Insert the windows 10 usb and generate boot-info URL and post the URL. Refer https://help.ubuntu.com/community/Boot-Info |
The link you posted explains using Linux and Grub to extract and copy windows files to a flash drive and boot with the Grub bootloader from the flash drive. I've used it and it works to boot windows so what exactly is the problem? Might indicate what steps you have taken and what error messages you get or where it fails. I can't see how it would be any more detailed than explained at the link. Maybe you're not undersanding the terminology?
