Switching from Gnome to KDE
I am running Mandrake 9.1, is there a way I can switch Gnome to KDE?
Thank you bear7 |
hi bear7, did you install kde? if you did then just logout and when you get to the login screen there is a drop down box to choose which window manager you will login with. just click on the arrow and choose kde. good luck. sorry, i read this later and it seemed a little short so i edited it.

To be honest with you, I don't know if I did or not. All I know is that in the install it give me the choice of either one.

read my edited post. it should help.

Must not have installed kde, I see no drop down box. Would you please tell me how to install kde. Please put it as simple as you can, cause I'm at the don't have a clue stage, but I'm willing to learn.

i'll need more info. when you logout, you should be given the option to logout, or restart the computer, or shutdown. if you choose logout you should be taken to a screen that gives you the option to choose a user. when you choose the user, you should be taken to a screen that asks for a password. underneath that you should see session type with a drop down box that you can click on and choose your window manager. if none of this is happening post back. you may have enabled "automatically loggin w/ this user" that is another issue and can be dealt with. good luck.
