switch gnome to kde at scientific linux 6

How to switch gnome to kde at scientific linux 6 x86?

I wrote file "/etc/sysconfig/desktop" with "DISPLAYMANAGER="KDE"".

But Gnome is still booted.

Any helpful comment would be appreciated.

Log out and have a mooch about at the bottom of the login screen. There are usually controls there that allow for selection of the Window manager.

The "Menu" for selecting a Desktop (Gnome, KDE) will appear,
when you have selected a user in the 'login window'.

For the record, your choice of desktop is recorded in $HOME/.dmrc

Creating your own configuration files is seldom successful: if your distro doesn't have /etc/sysconfig/desktop, why should it look for it?

I couldn't find "$HOME/.dmrc" at "cd ~" and "ls -al".

Should I make this file?

salparadise and knudfl/

Also I couldn't find "login" menu as shown in the picture.

Just follow knudfl's advice and that should work.
