Suse Safe Mode Password?

Have loaded SUSE 10.1 from the free Linux magazine DVD.

Trying to log into SUSE 10.1 safe mode, but it's asking for ID & password.
I have tried my normal ID to no avail.....I wasn't asked for any others at setup(?)

Is there a default.....how do I get in please?

how about trying root and the root password, SuSE must have asked you to supply one during install. Or if you get a CLI login, the same applies (if you have kde desktop - which I believe is the SuSE default - it may be that the kde is set so as not to allow graphic root login - search here to change that if you want I'm sure I've seen it mentioned).

Once you get into your system, change the password for the user account
Code:
passwd Mike Brown
hit enter and then supply the new password.

regards

John

p.s. I can't remember for SuSE, but when I try to get into this Kubuntu install of mine in safe mode (Kubuntu seems to call it "recovery mode"), it will only let me in as root.
