Question Suse Linux 12.1

I am trying to install Suse 12.1 from a DVD onto a brand new computer 500Gb drive, 4Gb RAM , Intel 3Ghz processor. The DVD runs then reverts to a red window - 'Repository not found' I have an identical machine on which I loaded Windows 7 without any trouble. - Suggestions or solutions please.

I'm totally lost.. you're saying that a SuSe specific error message doesn't appear on Windows 7?? Why would it??

What repository is it looking for? What kind of installation are you doing?

Can you try your luck with different distro?

Well, just a few days ago I did too install OpenSuse 12.1 from DVD and let Automatic configuration,
and it went without errors, except I did have a network / internet connection available.

Right now I am using this and I really didn't have problems, of course I booted off the installation DVD and didn't choose any specific/extra packages to install.

I may presume that the installation DVD doesn't find your DVD drive from which to read installation, which you could probably try to change in your computer's BIOS, some AHCI/IDE settings for the drives in your computer.

good luck
