Suse install problems on Via Raid

***Newbie Alert****I'm trying to install Suse 8.0 personal on my new rig, which is a Asus K8V deluxe. My haddrive (120gb Maxtor SATA drive) is connected to my VIA Raid connector, but im running it as a single harddrive(no raid setup). The problem is that when i run through the installation, it will not detect my harddrive for a partition. I have a partition already setup on the drive. I believe that Suse 8.0 can't find the via controller needed to detect the harddrive. Before i select install, I can press the alt-f7 and it says to get you harddrive boot disk ready. Can anyone tell me how to create a boot disk to detect my controller? I haven't the slightest idea how to create a boot disk for linux.

The VIA raid controller is = VT8237 RAID controller, I checked and it has the drivers for Suse 8.2, not Suse 8.0

Any help is much appreciated! Thanks!
