suse install freezes

Im trying to install suse 10.2 and when i boot from the cd i choose install and then after that it freezes, just before it freezes it says:

Activating ieee1394 devices..............ok
Hewlett-Packard Company RTL-8139/8139C/8139C+
Drivers: 8139too, 8139cp

i've tried booting with brokenmodules=8139too, 8139cp but it still freezes at the same point.
Can anyone help me sort this out so i can install suse. Thanks

Hi superrad, Welcome to lq. Some info about the machine may help diagnose this. Have you tried any other kernel options?

acpi=off apm=off noapic
Those are just a couple there are some others for irqs you might try also.
Good luck. ;-)
