suse ati driver problem
i reinstalled suse but I'm having trouble getting xgl working again. I forgot how I did it. I'm stuck on the part where your suppose to install the radeon drivers (I have a 9600xt radeon). I got the drivers installed, but it says no 3d support. Anyone know how to fix this? Thanks.

anyone know? Basically, I need help installing ati drivers correctly.

are you using the packages provided by suse or did you install the drivers from the package provided on the ati website ?. It can make a big difference. Also, if the drivers are correctly installed then maybe it's just a question of modifying your /etc/X11/xorg.conf to tell to use the right driver for your card.
Sorry can't help much more than that, I don't have a ati card or suse. |
i downloaded it from the ati site
if you run the file they give you in the terminal, there are 2 options, auto install and create a specific distribution install file. I tried both and got the same result. I'm stumped but I know its possible to get it working because a lot of suse users use xgl and I've had it working before too. =\ |
anyone know?
