Suse asks for screen size at each login

I'm using Suse 9.1 on a Acer 290 lmi notebook, and every time I login I get this message, " Your monitor did not report its X,Y values, do you want to enter them Manually."

So I choose yes, it opens Yast I leave it at 1024x768 @70Hz, and choose save. It seems to be fine, but the next time I login it will do it all over again. If I pick no I don't want to manually enter the vales it works fine, but its just an annoyance to get this message every login. Any suggestions, Thanks.

" Your monitor did not report its X,Y values, do you want to enter them Manually."

I solved the problem this way on my computer:

I looked in my owner manual for the monitor and found that the screen size was 310mm by 230mm. I wanted resolution=1024x768 16 bit

Run sax2
Go to monitor and click on properties and then 'expert' tab to enter
'Check desktopGeometry' values as (X-310, Y-230). And also go to 'Colour
and Resolution' to change colour bit and resolution to resolution=1024x768 16 bit. Save and exit
'sax2'. Reboot system or restart X server.
