Suse and Qtella?

I am a complete linux novice but have managed to successfully load and run, almost faultlessly, Suse 9.2 professional. The problem I have is running downloaded apps. I have downloaded Qtella, extracted it and compiled it, but I cannot get it to connect to the internet, getting message <In-comming connection bind error # 6364>
I have the firewall on,

Can anyone suggest a remedy please

It seems that it's caused by program trying to start listening to a port. When not thinking about bugs it can be only (?) caused by a program trying to use port it can't. In simple words - user program trying to listen on port below 1024. The problem is I have no idea why this partitcular program could do this. It's just not needed... OR it my be a that you already have a similar program running and there's a conflict between them. Is it possible?

Thanks for your reply Mara. I am pretty sure that there is no similar program running, This is the first time I have tried to run a program that was not in the Suse installation package and have no idea what might conflict with it.
