SuSE 9.3: yast installs rpm's to which dir?
i just dowloaded the java 1.5 sdk (the jdk**.rpm.bin version) and installed it from the hd with yast.
1. is it correct, that i have no choice in which dir to install new software, using yast in this fashion? 2. how do i know where the software lies after installation? is this determined by the rpm or by my system config? |
If you want to know where you have installed java, follow these guidelines:

to 1.: Yes!
to 2.: It is determined by the rpm. You can list the files and their destination by 'rpm -ql <package>', or by using konqueror (has a 'files' tab when you click on the rpm). |
