suse 9.3 wireless card strange problem

hi there,

my laptop was running suse 9.1 and everything was working fine . I use dlink Airplus DWL-G650 pcmcia card . it used to work like a charm.

now when i updated to suse 9.3 when i connect the wireless card i am able to connect to my network but for some weird reason the signal strength is always around 27-35% => although i am connected i cannot surf (it's dead slow !).

i checked my wireless network with my other xp laptop which shows the signal strength as 95 % !!!!

this has completely baffled me .

any clues to what might solve this ???

thanks
a
