Suse 9.3 fails mounting usb flash drive

Hi all,
I've used my flash drive with suse 9.3 with alternate luck. Sometimes all works fine, sometimes not at all. Now SuSE refuse to mount my usb drive. This is the OS response:
"mount: can't find /dev/sdf1 in /etc/fstab o /etc/mtab"
I know it depends on my ftab settings. Tis is my ftab:
</dev/sda3/ reiserfs acl,user_xattr 1 1
/dev/sda2 /windows/C ntfs ro,users,gid=users,umask=0002,nls=utf8 0 0
/dev/sda5 /windows/D vfat users,gid=users,umask=0002,utf8=true 0 0
/dev/sda6 swap swap pri=42 0 0
devpts /dev/pts devpts mode=0620,gid=5 0 0
proc /proc proc defaults 0 0
usbfs /proc/bus/usb usbfs noauto 0 0
sysfs /sys sysfs noauto 0 0
/dev/dvd /media/dvd subfs noauto,fs=cdfss,ro,procuid,nosuid,nodev,exec,iocharset=utf8 0 0
/dev/dvdrecorder /media/dvdrecorder subfs noauto,fs=cdfss,ro,procuid,nosuid,nodev,exec,iocharset=utf8 0 0
>
I've tried to change the string:
usbfs /proc/bus/usb usbfs noauto 0 0

to:

usbfs /proc/bus/usb usbfs auto 0 0

saving my old ftab. Unfortunately this trick doesn't work. Suggestions?

Can you install SuSe 10.1? I've read in another thread that usb has been improved but might still be a little buggy.

Suse 9.3 fails mounting usb flash drive

I've tried this way:
in terminal: ">su> mount /dev/sdb1/ /media/jetflash"
where jetflash is an empty directory i've created as mount point for my flash drive. I works fine! The question is how to make automatic all that.
