SuSE 9.2 question
Hi
OK I have had for a whyle all sorts of live-eval CDs and made my mind up installing SuSE 9.2 Everthing went absolutely OK. Linux rocks and it's better than "Windose canned fast fry and die". The Online Updater is just amazing and, and, and. BUT I have a little problem. When I reboot I get a strange distorted red screen just before the computer is going down to restart. I don't know what went wrong. can someone please help me? Sys Specs: AMD 1.2 GHz (32bit :)) ... 390 or so of RAM nVIDIA Ge-Force FX 5200 80 Gig HD Western Digital |
Does it prevent the system from coming back up, or is it just an annoyance?

No, no, the system comes back fine, nothing wrong with it at all. it's just that distorted red screen by rebooting.
Should i try reinstalling SuSE? Thanks in advance |
sounds like it just might be a little xorg config glitch while rebooting. i wouldn't worry too much about it.
i had a version of slack that did the same, except it used green lines while rebooting. you can try to reinstall, but i'm guessing it's not gonna make it go away? you can try tweaking your xorg.conf file, but honestly, if it's not affecting your resolution or screens and stuff, i'd let it be. |
Thanks.
The systems performs very good, graphics are good, screen-resolution is normal and the rest is super as well. I was just worried ... you know, (usual panic mode when thinking back to winXP. It took me long enough to switch.). |
this should help (add this line under Section "Device")
