SUSE 9.2 Crashes
Hi, i started to install suse 9.2, and this crashes just about after 5 min i startx
Tried to enter in failsafe, and nothing... it freezes
Installed 9.0, and sometimes it freezes in Konsole
Can someone help me out?
How do i enter in root mode in Mandrake?
By the way, i canīt get connected on the net. I tried speedtouchconf, but it doesnīt connect, I'm from Portugal

I seriously doubt that Linux itself is crashing, it is more likely your X-server crashing.
A typical culprit is the hotlug service for USB... Try changing your BIOS to only accept legacy USB... not USB 2.0... or disabling hotplug.
For internet use kppp... I think you'll have more success.

Is kppp able to handle adsl connections?
Everyone said to use pppoe
By the way, can u tell me how do login as root in mandrake?
I installed suse 4 times already and i can't enter in failsafe... I'll do what u said

Just hit
[Ctrl][Alt][F3]
To switch to a console,... and login as root.
You can also do a switch user to root in KDE from the menu,...
or run kdesu [programname] from the run option,...
I'm not sure about adsl connections. I DO know that USB modems (and the like) are a problem.

Mandrake.
Functionally, it's a lot like SuSE, but Mandrake tends to be a little more bleeding edge with its packages, and hardware support, but also geared towards being very familiar to ex-windoze users.
