One of the gentleman above said "If I had a DVD drive", well I don't! This is a new system I am building and I am going to/have ordered a new Lite-On LTR52327S drive. The DVD drive is for later!
Is there any reason I can't use the Cd-RW drive to install SUSE 9.1??

SuSE 9.1 Pro comes with both a 2 DVD install disk set and a 5 CD install disk set. That is true regardless of whether you get the upgrade or the regular retail version.

As for your previous question,... the books aren't critical. They are nice to have, but all the docs are on the DVDs.

This afternoon I noticed SUSE 9.1's price dropped to $66.00 at Price Grabber! Later it was priced at $53.00 on Price Watch! Can you please tell me what is going on?

Don't know,...

I paid $89.00 at BestBuy at retail (worth every penny). If you can get it cheaper,... go for it.

Cheap version of 9.1 Pro

I went onto Ebay and ordered a copy of just the 5 CDs for $9.50. They didn't come with any books. The install went quite well, and no, you don't need the DVDs to install the system.

You can install Suse 9.1 for free if you have the patience to do an FTP install. That's what I did, and Suse 9.1 is pretty impressive I'll have to admit. Details at www.suse.com -- J.W.
