Two thoughts - first, it may be possible that there's something wrong with one or more packages that you have downloaded, and therefore, it may be worth considering trying a different mirror for your downloads to see if that makes any difference. I ran into a similar issue where one mirror seemed to just hang, but by switching to another, things got back on track. Second, are you giving it enough time? Depending on the speed of your machine, it may be that things are moving ahead smoothly, but you aren't giving it enough time to finish before concluding that it must be stuck. That's just a guess though. How much clock time goes by before it "gets stuck forever"? -- J.W.
J.W. - Thanks for the suggestions. I tried different mirrors with the same result. Also, when I mean "stuck forever", I mean 24 hours later it is still at 96% running suseconfig.tetex
