SuSe 9.0 pro and Phpbb2

ok i am useing suse 9.0 and i downloaded the latest version of phpBB2 from

i start to install enter all that i know and get

phpBB : Critical Error

Could not connect to the database

what am i doing wrong ??

Database Server Hostname / DSN: LocalHost
Your Database Name: ???
Database Username: ????
Database Password: ????
Prefix for tables in database: phpbb_

Script path: /phpBB2/
Administrator Username: for my computer or am i creating one for phpBB2 ???

Do you have mysql running? PhpBB needs a database to connect to and my guess is that you don't have mysql running. If you do have it running then you need to create the database for phpbb to use and create a user with the necessary permissions on the database.

No i dont think mysql is running everytime i try to type mysql start it says can't connect to local mysql server through socket /var/lib/mysql/mysql.sock any idea what this means ?

and where is my data base and what files do i edit to give permissions ?
