Question SUSE 9.0 FTP INSTALL, Kernel panic???

Im trying to install suse 9.0 via a Swedish FTP server. Have formatted my HD via Partition Magic with a 15 GB ext2 partition and 1 GB swap. Have tried all the different install options (i.e. INSTALLATION, MANUAL INSTALLATION etc) but every time I get the same error:

Isofs_read_super:bread failed, dev=03:03 iso_blknum=16 block=32
Kernel panic: VFS: Unable to mount root fs on 03:03

I've searched and searched for an answer but without luck. Tried installing Mandrake 9.2 from some downloaded ISO images, and that worked without problems. Afterwards tried to install again but got the same error.

Is there something wrong with to boot.iso I downloaded or what does the error mean? Thanks for you assistance

can partition magic convert that partition to ext3 or reiser fs? that might help.

i can't recall if suse offers an md5sum for the boot.iso

i'm confused though... does the suse boot cd cause the error? or does the error occur after installation ?

The error occurs right after I have selected Installation Type and before I get to choose anything else.

Just tried running the LIVE-EVAL for SUSE without problems. It looks soooo much better than Mandrake. I really want this. Alternatively I might just spend the 90 USD and by the damn PRO edition here in Denmark
