suse 8.2 wlan Belkin F5d6020 Ver.2
Forgive my noobishness :)

still learning this linux stuff as my MS sheep have decided to finally run off!!

trying to get the belkin Belkin F5d6020 Ver.2 pcmcia card working in suse 8.2. i have read a few comments on www pages saying use the amtel drivers but i'm having no luck installing the package into suse correctly.

i dont suppose any one out there has a noobs guide to correctly installing them ?

pls take into account i've been one of the MS sheep till recently and i want to learn linux :o)

Did you check the pcmcia box when you were setting up your network interface? This was all I had to do (I don't have your card tho) and suse took care of loading the proper modules.

Whats your "lsmod" and "cardctl ident" give you. Check your dmesg and tell me what happens when suse tries to start eth0.

Suse only details the card as an unsupported device

i feel this card requires the amtel drivers to support it as IF im correct it uses a chipset not supported by suse as default. i THINK this chipset is the prism 2 chipset but im not 100% sure :<

really need some input on this problem if anyone can help

the laptop / suse spot the card is there and that it is supplying 5 volts (this it noted in the pcmcia viewer of suse) but the viewer says the device is one of unsupported type.

i nicked version 1 of this card from a mate and it loaded and ran a dream but he needed it back so im stuck again where version 2 of this bleedin card does not work

I am also trying to use F5d6020 v2 card on my laptop. I am using Suse 8.2. I have successfully installed driver. And it seems that the driver is working now. Because I can get an IP address from the DHCP server and I can reach other machines in LAN. But I am suffering the problems that I can not visit the WWW outside. It seems that the problem is configuring route. But I am not sure. Is there anybody having some idea about it?
