Suse 8.2 pro cannot get services starte

HI Everyone

my problem is obviously simple for some but my company now wants to use suse instead of red hat and ive been given that task but.....

In redhat you can just say service smb restart and it works

or type in setup on terminal and it works

not in Suse

Please is there any book or any tutorial that i can read or can any body help me

I believe the service utility is unique to redhat. In SUSE you can either use YAST or you can start it from the command line; should be something like:

/sbin/smbd restart

Just checked and on my SuSE 9 box it's:

/usr/sbin/smbd <command>

where <command> is stop, start, restart, etc
