Question suse 8.2 on sony vaio laptop - installation problem

I am trying to install Suse 8.2 Professional on my Sony Vaio (PCG Z600NE) laptop.

After booting from CD1 and selecting language etc using the linuxrc tool, I hit a problem when starting the installation from cd-rom. linuxrc prompts me to insert CD1 into the drive but when I hit OK, a message 'Unable to mount CD-ROM!'.

I suspect the problem is caused by having a PCMCIA-connected CD-ROM and USB-connected floppy disk (this isn't recognised either when trying to load kernel modules from floppy disk).

Your help would be greatly appreciated!

Try a later version since Suse is up to 9.2 now?
