SuSE 8.2 On Cyrix Installation Problem
My first install hasn't gone great so far (http://www.justlinux.com/forum/showt...hreadid=108063), so I thought I'd get in touch with the SuSE support team. According to them, my Cyrix MII-300 6x86 processor "isn't 100% Pentium compatible and so makes the kernel panic". I got through the first bit of the install though, and the SuSE hardware database reckons the 150Mhz and 200Mhz versions are supported. Apparently there are no workarounds. Anybody tried this and got it working? Otherwise it looks like I'm getting a new processor.

Probably not the answer your looking for but you could try another distro to see if you get any further...

Problem is, I shelled out for the box set, thinking SuSE 8.2 was easy to use and worked with my hardware.
