Smile SuSE 8.2 and me....

like many others, i'm a total newbie to linux. i know lots about windows and stuff, but it's just not enough. so i decided to tackle linux. i tried playing with redhat and got no place, so i've switched to suse 8.2, and i'm loving it so far. sure, my modem isn't recognized...i have no idea what i'm doing and i know i'm gonna mess up soooooo many things, but i can rebuild and learn from my mistakes. my question is this...what is the one piece of advice you would give to a newbie just starting out?

My advise would be... "If you have a question, make sure you know how to ask properly."

ie. Describe your situation, what was the last things that you did before the issue popped up... If there are error messages, what is the exact message... etc.
