Do you have any error messages for us? Have you run netconfig already (provided SuSE has this feature)? What make and model is your ethernet card--your router?

Hi I do not have any error messages. I also do not have netconfig. My ethernet is a Realtek RTL8139(something) and my router is a Linksys BEFSR41.

You may have crappy isos. Is SuSE 8.2 live eval CD runs fine?
www.linuxiso.org

Try run these as root in konsole:

ifconfig
route

And don't forget to post the outputs.

Have a lot of fun :-)
