SuSe 8.1 CDRW/DVD pb on Laptop Inspiron 8100
Hi,
I have just installed the new suse 8.1 (kernel 2.4.19-4GB) on my laptop (Dell Inspiron 8100, PIII 1100 MHz, 512 Mo RAM, Combo CDRW/DVD). Everythings seems to be ok, except for the CDRW/DVD : this is what I get from the boot.msg : <4>hdb: no flushcache support <6>scsi0 : SCSI host adapter emulation for IDE ATAPI devices <4> Vendor: TOSHIBA Model: CDRW/DVD SDR2102 Rev: 1D10 <4> Type: CD-ROM ANSI SCSI revision: 02 <4> Vendor: TOSHIBA Model: CDRW/DVD SDR2102 Rev: 1D10 <4> Type: CD-ROM ANSI SCSI revision: 02 <4> Vendor: TOSHIBA Model: CDRW/DVD SDR2102 Rev: 1D10 <4> Type: CD-ROM ANSI SCSI revision: 02 <4> Vendor: TOSHIBA Model: CDRW/DVD SDR2102 Rev: 1D10 <4> Type: CD-ROM ANSI SCSI revision: 02 <4> Vendor: TOSHIBA Model: CDRW/DVD SDR2102 Rev: 1D10 <4> Type: CD-ROM ANSI SCSI revision: 02 <4> Vendor: TOSHIBA Model: CDRW/DVD SDR2102 Rev: 1D10 <4> Type: CD-ROM ANSI SCSI revision: 02 <4> Vendor: TOSHIBA Model: CDRW/DVD SDR2102 Rev: 1D10 <4> Type: CD-ROM ANSI SCSI revision: 02 <7>sd_attach() <7>sd_attach() <7>sd_attach() <7>sd_attach() <7>sd_attach() <7>sd_attach() <7>sd_attach() The command line for the boot is : <4>Kernel command line: root=/dev/hda6 hdb=ide-scsi vga=788 Does this has to be related with "hdb=ide-scsi" ?? (in the boot.msg, there is also : <3>kmod: failed to exec /sbin/modprobe -s -k scsi_hostadapter, errno = 2) Does someone know how to fix it ? Thanks for your help. Another little question : what does this mean (from the beginning of boot.msg) : 4>Dell Inspiron with broken BIOS detected. Refusing to enable the local APIC. Bonne journee !!! |
